Kenya: Faces & Places

In 2011 I spent several months embedded with Maasai communities in rural Kenya, and with families and schoolchildren in Kibera, one of Nairobi's largest informal settlements. I was invited into homes, ceremonies, classrooms, and daily life. Every portrait was printed and returned to its subject, many of whom had never owned a photograph of themselves. These images are documents of that exchange.
